Mt Perry 2010 roundup

First things first. I would just like to notify
everyone that I, grainfed, have appointed myself
the role of m1 cycles blog MTB editor.

Last weekend was the first EVER big representation of M1 cycles riders at mt perry. Just goes to show that good, solid training, sweet advice and good nutrition can take anyone anywhere. With extremely good results from all our riders, i think everyone should be happy, considering what we were up against.

Saturday night had the boys fight it out in an 800m "dirt crit". Bushy took out 4th in elite mens, and grainfed came in 9th. Both events had 20 or so riders compete.

The night was cold and most people rugged up appropriately. I believe that ken and hayley left the rest of us at camp and took off to a cosy motel in gin gin. Luckily food was being served by the container full, I think Im right to say that we all consumed more then enough in hot chips, roast beef and spaghetti bolegnaise.

With a total ascent of 245 metres per lap, on an 11.5km course and hills that were absolute slogs, all the m1 riders who competed finished with their heads held high.

Bush Slasher took out a second with 10 laps in 16-29 years age group, I managed to pull an 8th with 8 laps (thanks to bushy who had a few motivational words to me on the fifth lap) in 16 to 29 age group. 30 to 44 division had Ken Ridden smash a 13th with 8 laps and Matty Ness came in 22nd with 7 laps.

Male pairs had Dark Horse and Silent Assassin pull a 5th with 11 laps, and our close friends Adrian and Bryce lohman got 11th with 10 laps.

With almost 300 riders on the weekend, the competition was stiff. Great job to all the guys for giving it a go, and thanks to everyone who came down and competed and helped out.

Next year its mine bushy :)
